As I've pointed out in prior threads, the difference in driving time (to PVG) between the vast majority of the Pudong hotels discussed on FT and Jing'an is no more than 5 minutes.
That said, if you really, really want to stay over there (and don't want to cross the river for dinner), Suntory (in HSBC building) is one of my favorite restaurants in SH.
