That's a pretty good deal, IMO.

Platinum AMEX card gives you the PP membership free...but the annual AMEX fee is $450.00 (or so).

Edit: Sorry, appears this program has changed. Platinum AMEX now give airport lounge access to participating lounges, plus AA lounges. Looks like the PP membership has gone away.
