I mean weird looking food items with extremely pretty presentation. Many gourmands like this sort of thing, but growing up in NYC and vicinity, I prefer less adventurous fare. When I go to a nice restaurant, and they bring out the bread with garlic and oil with no butter, I ask for butter. Some restaurants turn their nose at me as they bring a slab of industrial butter from the kitchen, but...c'est la vie.
