I have to agree with this one. My daughter and I took the TGV to and from Bordeaux last June and it was great. Nice ride, no hassles getting on the trains, good food on the trains. If you speak/read French, you can book your tix on the SNCF website rather than through RailEurope (assuming the OP is American, since I did not see a location on the profile) and get a much better deal. I did that and probably saved 50% by buying a discounted ticket only available in France. Printed the tix at home (got A4-sized paper at a local paper store) so I did not even have to stop at the ticket windows to pick up the tix. Only thing to keep in mind is that the TGV platforms at Montparnasse station are far from many of the metro line platforms, so give yourself some extra time to get onboard.
