Everything you say, I have seen. These issues are the responsibility of the training department, and clearly from your point of view they arent doing a very good job.
May I suggest you forward what you wrote to Qantas, maybe with a few more details, and demand a response. Continue to send until you receive an adequate response.
Working for an airline is something I can not describe and after many years I have seen it change dramatically. The points you raise are global among most airlines, and it is doubtful it will get much better.
Qantas staff are currently very unhappy, and very unsettled. One of the main issues is actually the lack of fresh equipment, and the constant promise of it being delivered. This is something you mentioned that may be the only thing they have going for them, except the staff are being forced to work on ageing aircraft or deal with cancellations and disrupted flights.
I dont think the people that can really do something about it frequent this forum so a part from venting I cant see you getting very far using this medium.
The next time you see something you dont like, ask to see the manager. If they dont satisfy you take it further. Put it in writing. Fight for a result. Judging by your post its something you feel very passionate about.
