International can be an access issue/security. At international airports the AA club may be in a different Terminal and u will not be able to get to that area unless your boarding pass/airline departing is in the same area. If you are incoming (no onward flight) you can not get through security to get to the club.
I understand well the "security" rules and physical location problems and I guess should have mentioned I knew those linitations.
The point is...
Admiral Club members are welcome in all Admirals Clubs - if they can get to them.
