It doesn't seem like there is much upside with Diamond. Most of my stays are lower tier Hilton brands like HGI, HI, HS, etc. I rarely stay at an actual Hilton Hotel. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Well everyone is going to have a different answer I'm sure, but personally I like to keep my points with the same program (i.e. Hilton). Although I agree with some posters in that I've been disappointed on a few occasions with upgrades and additional perks at Hilton properties, I take full advantage of the "double dip" and I love the 50% bonus for Diamond. I also have the Hilton Citi card and charge everything under the sun on that. I've racked up some MAJOR points over the past six months. I also like the fact that Hilton has so many different brands (HGI, Hampton, Homewood, Embassy, etc etc). There isn't a place I travel when I can't find some sort of Hilton property and I can't say the same for Sheraton. Just like my airline travel (American), I keep all my hotel stays with Hilton and my points rack up quicker.
