Is it likely? No. Is it possible. Very much so.
Speaking as someone who has read some reports and know people I trust with my life who have told me incidents they were involved it, I'd say anyone who took this position of yours is kidding themselves. But by all means, keep those heads in the sand. It's a much more comfortable way to live.
