Except that the money really won't go to the Metro extension.

You'll still pay Kippie and his band of _______s. You'll have to pay Clear on top. For those of us that fly a lot or pay-up for F/J tickets, it's another tax.

Clear is just like converting freeway lanes to service roads and replacing the expressway with toll roads. The "State" (or airport authority) benefits, but the customer has to pay more for something they got already. I know a bit about airport franchise contracts - once something like this is in place, any potential competition must stop. The only way the airlines will have a say is if they revise their contracts to specify that they get an elite/F/J line.

Legalized extortion.
