Well that is not always true, it really depends on the route and day of the week / time of travel. This year, I've only been upgraded 30% of the time in about 50 segments that could be upgraded, and I can remember at least 5 of those upgrades coming after being seated in Coach and there was a no show in First. I do think many other EXPs have better luck than I though.
