I have verified that the countdown time on a portable Ding URL is synchronized with the clock for online check-in. Ding sales start on 5-minute boundaries, so when the "seconds remaining" is a multiple of 300 you are right on a 5-minute mark according to Southwest Standard Time.
As it happened today, my check-in window opened at 9AM, the same time as the start of the Ding sale. When the countdown reached zero I got the BP checkbox. Two seconds earlier I didn't.
If you need a portable Ding URL, just install Ding on any computer you have access to at the moment and then PM curbcrusher. (You need your own Ding installation, but it can be removed afterwards if you disconnect from the Internet while uninstalling.)
