Kinda reminds me of the x-ray machines they were using at almost every shoe store in the 50's to check foot positioning in new shoes.
The x-rays were billed as completely harmless.
It was only many years lateer that a "Whoops, we were wrong
. The machines could have exposed kids to a dangerous dose of radiation" caveat was released.
