I think the ferry is an excellent option that could provide safe, clean, affordable inter-island transport. I think the current legal issues are a joke and think the State should work fast to get the ferry back on track. After all, this is just another boat we're talking about ...and there's lots of boats floating around the islands. In terms of environmental impact, a single cruise ship does far more harm than a week's worth of ferry shuttles. And the air and noise pollution by airplanes is far worse on humans and wildlife than the ferry will ever be.
Few people seem to be concerned about this - you would think the SuperFerry would help reduce the carbon footprint generated by all the 737s going inter-island.
