Short sighted.
Maybe CO's concerned customers are writing checks to my friends, the NGOs, instead. Buying an offset (especially from the lousy partner CO has chosen) is like a breath mint - it's a superficial feel good thing. If you are really concerned, you are probably putting your major effort elsewhere.

And one day in the not too distant future, those NGOs are going to send Larry a very nice letter pointing out some facts about climate change and air travel. And if CO ignores it, then they're going to wind up calling up the press and getting naked on the CLE runway or donning suction cup shoes, climbing a 777, and unfurling a banner with something appropriately unpleasant (for CO) written upon it.** And it goes downhill from there.

I'm not all doom and gloom about it; but they'd be fools not to take to seriously. But uptake on their offset is a bad metric for them to rely on.

**Disclaimer: I don't do these sorts of "action" things; but I have known people that do.
