I got both my own and my wife's DONExs reissued (both ticketed originally before the new rule and both with surface segments - hers an e-ticket and mine paper) after the change. AA USA needed "clarification" from a supervisor before okaying the changes; Qantas Travel Centre in SYD (no AA presence in Oz - feh) reissued mine without a peep - not even sure the agent knew about the rule. QF did manage to remember about their AUD75 nuisance fee on top of the USD125 reissue fee however.
