I was just about to book a BKK-KWI flight on EK, having used Thai for years to do this trip every month. Thai service is now poor, the planes are old and uncomfortable, but the service was cheap (53,000 Thai Baht for a business class return).

Just before I clicked to book... I notice the flight details said codeshare. I clicked on the link and guess what... EK uses the Thai Airways flight I'm trying to avoid - and for 20,000 baht extra for the exact same seat.

Has anyone had any issues/complaints against EK for codesharing with an inferior business class product? Is there any other benefits I'd get by accuring Skywards miles that might make the switch (to the same aircraft!) worthwhile?
