Yep, although if the airline messes up, the consequences may be
felt by a random stranger. As I mentioned in my above post, I feel that it's the airline's responsibility to take care of any such disserviced pax and acknowledge that their mistake did cause a problem for someone, even if they were able to accommodate the pax who was originally affected.
