It's no wonder there are less and less benefits -- $5K is less than one round trip in business to Europe and the 6500 miles it brings. I don't mean to disrespect but how does one get 100,000 miles of flying for 5 cents a mile? That would make the average trans-con about $250 RT.
I looked over a few diners year end statements and for the 3 times I made it in the past the high spend was $40K (lots of trans-atlantic C) to $22K. This year looks like $18K.
