OK I was gonna be cancelling this CC out anyway since they made the FOREX 3% when it used to be 1%, so as much as I HATE Cap 1, I went back to them no FOREX except the 1% that MC or Visa charges, and with the 1% back its a wash.

My bigger problem was I purchased something that is on the way back for a refund, so I called and asked for a Temp credit till the refund itself comes in, was told, NO! HSBC already paid the vendor and HSBC by issuing even a Temp Credit would be as if they paid it for you. Took it up to a Supervisor and was told the samething.

My statement closed and most likely the refund wont get in before the Due Date, so I didnt want to pay for it and then call back and have them issue me a check for the refunded amount. OK it was only $70 but what if it was a Tkt that cost me a few $1000.

So Beware HSBC does NOT issue Temp Credits , so if purchase something you will have to pay for it and await whatever amount of time it takes for the Refund to be processed and put onto your acct. This is the ONLY Card Issuer that does this!
