Tov, chevre. Just came off of ECE. Sat in Business. Here is my low-down:

The C seat is no doubt a significant upgrade from the old 777 seats. The "lie-flat" bed aspect is comparable to CO's BizFirst, though CO's are a bit wider. The new C seat is 100 times better than the previous 777 C seat, though not as wide as the old 744 C seat, but still better than the 744 seat since it really does lie flat. The cabin is significantly tighter since each unit is buliker and takes up more space. I noticed a lot less "personal space" in which to spread out - for example, there is no longer any place to put anything under the seat in front of you - its closed up. Not terrible, but lacking. One annoying "feature" of the C seat is that your seat controls (recline, footrest) become disabled if you open up your tray. Pretty stupid that you can't adjust recline if the tray is open. Also, the tray doesn't lie flat as it rests on the divider between you and your neighbor. Thus, your liquids are slanted and slide - a definite design flaw.

The Y seats seemed pretty decent to me. I sat in a Y seat for a little bit to try it out. It is wider than the old Y seats. Seemed to be genuine 34" pitch.

I didn't really have the opportunity to examine the F seats but from my observation, they seem to be indentical to the C seats, just in a tan color and there is more pitch, hence they lie flight at 180 degrees.

The AVOD system was really neat. Wide selection. BUT:
- They had to reset the system 4 times in-flight.
- They loaded the July movies, not the August one's listed in Atmosphere. I'll bet they got those pre-loaded by the manufacturer upon delivery (in July) and haven't yet figured out how to load the new movies onto the server!!! (How many times can I watch Premonition and Disturbia!?! BTW - why don't they swap movies twice a month like most airlines do these days?)

On that same note, the automated PA anouncements sounded VERY amatuerish - as if some employee in Tel Aviv made a recording at her desktop and e-mailed the file to Boeing for upload. Sounds REALLY unprofessional - both the Hebrew and the English. They would do much better to take the recordings currently in-use on the 744's and other 777's. At least those sound professional.

More nit-picking - the airshow has been upgrdaed and looks cool - but lacks 70% of the detail we used to get on the other planes (names of cities, etc.) Also - no Hebrew.

The mood-lighting was very cool. BUT - as usual the crew doesn't seem to have a clue how or when to use it. They applied it for all of 20 minutes during initial taxi to the runaway. That was it.
