But the way according to this revised op-up list might be easier - because the ID90 pax would be standing by until like 40 minutes before departure, and now instead of having to upgrade the elite pax at the gate/lounge + give a Y boarding pass to the ID90, now just need to give a J boarding pass to the ID90 directly and no more hassle at the gate/lounge.
CX has the system to op-up at the counter, lounge or gate. It is not quite a lot of hassle. It does make the employees feel good that the company seems to take good care of them. Of course, the side benefit will be reducing the hassle.
As I mentioned in the previous post, some airlines allow pilots to seat ID90 passengers in business class. I am not sure about CX, but CX may also put that in the system to minimise the gray area.
