No one is screaming about that, but going to China with no notice isn't a lot easier unless you live in a city with a consulate.
First of all China is a communist country and USA (allegedly) free democracy so there's subtle difference.
Also, remember that if you travel on business to China you could apply for multiple entry visa and even chinese commies won't demand 48hrs notice prior to your travel.
