Are some topics now off-limits on FT?
This is not a complaint about moderators, only a question about FT policy.
Lately, I've noticed a number of otherwise relevant travel-related threads get closed within hours of their being started. The threads are civil and on-topic though usually (but not aways) touch on what are frequently hot-button issues (one that comes to mind was a complaint about a noisy family in the DEN RCC). However, I've also seen a number of what seemed, at least to me, relatively innocuous topics that, nonetheless, were closed quite early in the discussion.
Is there some new, unannounced policy that FT travel discussion is going to become more vanilla and not include discussions of on-topic issues about which people have strong and divergent opinions? I understand that to long-time FT regulars, these topics may seem like rehashing old themes, but FT has a constant flow of new members and, even for old members, these topics obviously have some appeal or they wouldn't keep turning up.
