Hero? Maybe, maybe not. At least they aren't complying with a pointless, invalid, and (as has been mentioned here several times already) COUNTERPRODUCTIVE rule put in place, apparently, solely to harass air travellers. Since there's nothing else it could ***POSSIBLY*** do.

Perhaps if you (or rather, our hypothetical late traveller) had been responsible enough to get to the airport with plenty of lead time to deal with the ludicrous TSA so-called "safety checks", you (or he) wouldn't have had that problem.

See, others can use the "responsibility" card effectively, too.

Now, to REALLY address the actual root problem - get rid of the stupid, pointless, and counterproductive CRAP - like the War On Shampoo And Bottled Water, and the Shoe Carnival - and those delays just GO AWAY, leaving your path to the departure gate much clearer.@:-)^

JMHO
And you're welcome to it. Don't ask me to go along with the lemming mentality that seems to be inherent in it. Don't tell me to just go along, "just follow the rules regardless of their validity" - if we don't challenge this sort of crap, it'll NEVER be fixed. And that's completely unacceptable.
