I agree it is a very good service. With heavier packages it can be both cheaper and faster to use.
No service is perfect. My friend used to be in charge of the EMS section of the Japan post office. He told me about the time that a luggage cart transfering packages from a plane to the SF terminal was accidentally misplaced for over a year.
