I agree with ContinentalFan, contact the OP service center, send them a copy of your birth certificate, drivers license, passport, credit cards, etc. etc.
If your first name is William and your OP says Bill, it should hopefully be understandable ... especially if you have credit card statements, etc., that say Bill with the same mailing address.
Otherwise they will ask you for legal documentation of your name change.
