This still is an LCD display, but is backlit with an LED element rather than a fluorescent bulb. The principal differences are lower power consumption, a somewhat brighter (some say "whiter") image without the "fading" that occurs over time with fluorescent bulbs, and elimination of mercury and arsenic otherwise used in fluorescent bulbs.
