The St Louis Post Dispatch has reported today that the man, Roosevelt Sims, was found late Thursday evening. He was clad only in his underwear, and was using a stick to walk along railroad tracks in the woods.
Apparently his diagnosis with diabetes was quite recent. He had just retired from his job and was going to California to visit his children. The train reportedly ran out of food, and all he had eaten was potato chips.
Since the diagnosis was so recent, he probably did not have anything like a med-alert bracelet about his condition, and he also may not have realized that he was becoming so ill.
