Train pass question........
Ok, heres the deal........
I will be in Switzerland and Germany this October, and I plan on traveling via train using a Germany-Swiss Rail Pass.
One part of my trip will take me from Lauterbrunnen to Locarno. Simple enough...........but the part that has me a bit confused is this train ride will take me through a bit of Italy. (Brig to Locarno via Domodossola, Italy) The train will be in Italy for 30-ish KM before going back into Switzerland.
Now, I've read some things about the pass that states cities near the border of the country your pass is valid in are covered..........ie Salzburg is covered under the German pass.
But is there some place I can find specifics of this rule? Last thing I want is to face some hefty fine from a pissed off Italian conductor.
