Apparently, GSO is doing really well so far and although the pax mix was heavily leisure-oriented, there were no "Ma and Pa Kettle" types. Mostly people bound for Ohio or North Carolina cities or those who hadnt checked bags. I overheard the ground agents and of the 129 pax (144 seats), only 60 had checked bags.

People were buying food and drinks at almost every row (which honestly surprised me). The crew was young, but funny (a la Southwest) and even offered to have the inflight messages sponsored if a company would pay for it.

All in all, this was a very pleasant experience, and everyone on the plane was complimenting the airline and the fares. I'd give Skybus two thumbs up (although I still prefer Delta any day)!
I just returned from a CMH-MCI trip and my experience was similar to yours. A few more "Kettle" folk on the MCI route who didn't understand why cabin service was terminated early (captain told everyone to sit down because the flight was pretty bumpy). Other than that, great trip! I'll be curious to follow up when they get their own airplanes though.
