The standby waitlist is usually posted on a dot-matrix printout on the side of the podium. I don't think they're meant to be viewed by the passengers, but I see lots of people walking up there to check, and I did it once or twice too.
The standby list is not posted everywhere though. I usually check the list myself and one time I saw that I was already upgraded. Went to podium explained that I was on the list and saw I was upgaded and asked for my new BP. GA simply said FC was full (without checking)
. But since I was upgraded I had a lot of patience and explained it again and got the BP
