Eligible Flights ???

I was looking at my activity report online and noticed something new in the Status Credits column. For QF flights, they all had a ~ footnote next to them, which referred to the following text at the bottom:

"~ Eligible flight (Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar segment) counted towards status attain/retain. "

Almost all of my AA flights - which are booked on a Qantas Business itinerary as part of a single trip - did not have this footnote.

I thought that all OneWorld flights were eligible for earning purposes; in the past I was sure that such flights had been. Can anyone clarify what's going on? Is this a recent change or something that's always been there but not enforced? For someone with 3000 odd SCs this year it's a fine way to show loyalty
