I had 16A pre selected the other day, and I was given 3F instead (3 class 744) .

If the UD is the preference, I'd suggest seats towards the rear of the cabin. There is less wind noise (certainly an issue for row 11) and you'll be off the plane earlier. Also, you can easily grab a passing FA to get another drink whereas those at the front of the cabin keep missing out on drinks because those at the back keep asking for top-ups.
