I think you missed some information in the post you are commenting on.
ColumbiaPete was not discussing a situation where kids were left alone with a TV, or allowed to watch a specific show without parental vetting/supervision. He was discussing language he thought might be inapropriate for children that was part of a movie preview shown on a plane with audio put out
over the planes PA.
