I still don't believe that there's any significant "threat" to justify this stuff. However .. I'd be willing to hybridize security into: a) current lanes of 3-1-1 or b) voluntary SSSS for those who have stuff they refuse (for whatever reason) to check. You might have to wait longer, they swab your freakin' bottle of wine after checking the seal appears to be intact, and you don't have to check a bag just for that!

Not to mention all those dangerous snowglobes. I feel that one would have been the one to turn Kettles against this nonsense, if there's any one factor.
