Hi,
We're still trying to work out a few quirks between MileTracker and Vista,
one of them being the upgrades. I'm sorry that you are unable to upgrade
your MileTracker as easily as you would with Windows XP. Hopefully we'll get
that fixed in the near future.
Until then, you can update your MileTracker by un-installing and
re-installing the application. I know it sounds like a pain, but it's really
not that difficult. By un-installing using the un-install function in your
USA TODAY MileTracker folder, your accounts should remain on your computer.
Then, you can re-install MileTracker from our website
(
www.usatoday.deskport.biz). As long as you don't delete your MileTracker
folder after un-installing, your files should be there when you re-launch
your updated MileTracker.
To be extra safe, I would recommend creating a backup of your accounts if
you have not already done so. You can do this by selecting "Backup Users,
Accounts, & Options" from the "Setup" menu at the top of the MileTracker
window. Then, you can save a copy of your accounts on your hard drive, thumb
drive, CD, etc.
Please let me know if you encounter any problems with un-installing and
re-installing or if your MileTracker is not upgraded. After re-installing,
you should be able to see if your MileTracker is upgraded by selecting
"About" from the "Help" menu at the top of the MileTracker window. If it is
updated, it should have a last updated date of April 19th.
Thank you for your continued support.
