I did a search for "slow elevator" and the only results were one thread specific to the NY Marquis and a single mention about the Waikiki elevators in another thread.

I am at the Chicago Downtown Marriott Magnificent Mile and have been getting really frustrated with the elevators. While it hasn't been 20 minutes like NY Marquis, it's been 5-7 minute waits and having to wait for the 2nd or 3rd elevator b/c the ones that come are jam packed. This is both in the morning and then early evening through late night. It's gotten to the point where I've seen multiple people who are on say floor 9, going up all the way to the top, just to get down to the Lobby b/c otherwise all the elevators that come are full.

Unlike, say the San Fran Marriott that has a low, middle, and high tier elevator, this one only has 2 tiers and it's also packed with convention folks. Regardless, I hate spending more than 30 minutes a day waiting for elevators!

Have any other people experienced elevator problems at this hotel? Is there anything I can do (aside from sucking it up or moving to a new hotel)? Is this something that is worth complaining to the GM about (I'm really not after points or anything, but the frustration has just been building up)?
