I have waited a week and it has not come up, so I made some further enquires. I emailed CX this morning. They replied promptly to inform me that all seats on all flights to Seoul on that day are sold out. That represents 5 wide body aircraft and booking over 2 months in advance. CAN THIS BE REAL !!!

I called BA in London, they have zero's accross the board on all flights in all classes on that day.

I look on expert flyer and there is loads of seats on all flights.

If make a dummy booking on CathayPacific.com one way HKG-ICN on the 11th Jun and there is availability on every flight.

Any ideas or possible explaination ?
If the CX agent was correct (as suggested by you remaining unbooked) it sounds like another chapter in the unfolding saga of selective availability. Seats are available, but not to YOU. Not you personally, of course, but people flying on your kind of ticket purchased in the place you bought yours. Or something like that.

If so, until the services like EF make available all the caveats that go with the availability listings, they've just become much less useful.
