I stand corrected - don't know what I mis-clicked to see that. Looks like the only examples of the old pitch are on domestic transcons, and that is what I was mentally comparing VS PE with (it's been a while since I flew UA). So, let me modify that to say that IMHO VS PE hard product is comparable with many NA carriers J products from 5-10 years ago.

Yes, as there will be much less recline. I too am concerned with width at least as much as pitch (and hence regard BA WT+ hard product as inferior to VS PE), but recline is important too.
