Question for all the commuters

Hi,
I am in the process of interviewing for jobs. I live in the central Boston area (been here for a while). The position I applied and interviewed for, as I learn today, is being relocated in Merrimack, NH (versus S. Boston). This is approximately 57 miles north of central Boston. I had a bit of experience commuting to a position that was on the Boston beltway (128) which took approximately 1 hour each day (with roadwork and bad weather, it could take about 20-30 minutes longer).

I always though it's an advantage living in the city and having public transportation (albeit Boston is not an example of the perfect public transport system), so I am unsure as to what effect and how long this type of commute can take. 60 miles each way does seem a lot, and I just wanted to get other peoples feedback that commute everyday either in the New England area, or other areas. How much does this take out of your life?

I am not relocating to NH by any means.

Thanks
