I'm probably naive on this, but does it cost THAT much to inventory and move merchandise? In my case, my local CU store is closing, the next closest ones are 12 miles and 44 miles. Wouldn't it be cheaper to move transfer all the merchandise to those stores (or back to a central warehouse for redistribution) and close the stores immediately, than to have the store potentially open for months with ever-increasing discounts?
