I too stayed here last month on points at the old rate. I felt it was good value at Cat 2, but if I had to use points at the current Cat 4 I would feel I got ripped off. I don't think it is that good. It is a little bit rough on the edges and needs to time to develop into a true 5 star hotel.

I did like how it was so quiet. I had a ground floor room and loved that until I awoke after an afternoon nap to find two monkeys in the room eating my fruit. It was such a shock! After that I kept the door closed!

I too felt the cleaning was a bit hit and miss. Didn't get any free drinking water unless I called.

I thought the bar at the lobby was sensational... beautiful views and classy. But like all the other hotel food and drink places, it is overpriced.

The beach is nothing to rave about either.

And the town of Kuah... what a rundown shambles. Seems like this town was built in the 80s and then let go. Very disappointing for shopping. Even food options like restaurants seemed very tacky and disappointing.

And the lounge at the airport... why no free water or coffee or tea? Didn't really leave a good impression if they charge such crazy prices.
