Actually, I have another (unpublished) code which I have also used in the past that was directed specifically to me: that wouldn't work either and nowhere in the accompanying documentation was there an indication that this code was not valid with a sub-compact vehicle. I don't think it's unreasonable that an invalid or expired code should produce a an intelligible message, rather that one that directed me to hit the back button and re-submit. How about "Code Invalid"? That would work for me.
