I was there twice in the last 3 months. I need to tell ya I know the places are inexpensive and probably have good food.

HOWEVER...I did see a rat run across those alleys into one of th e buildings that serves food... that was unsettling...and I saw food preperation done almost on the sidewalk standing over a bowl while socializing with customers...

I'll stick to the Hawker Food at Harbor and Raffle's Shopping Malls. Just not going to chance it. I didn't eat on Geylang..I did stay there a few nights while slumming it after the Valley Wing.

I do like contrasts...when traveling.
