Seriously, one of the things that distinguishes FT from many other boards is that the membership is allowed to express their opinions on how the board should be run. We all know it isn't a democracy, but we feel listened to, not by some low-level functionary, but by the big kahuna himself. He will not always agree with us, but he listens and considers.

Having said that, I don't spend every waking moment at ORP, so normally a question arises and the thread gets locked before I get a chance to weigh in. Now, you might say that me adding my opinion to the discussion won't do much to advance it (and often, you would be right), but it does make me feel better about FT and my participation here. I guess I would turn the question around - what would it hurt to leave the discussion open?
