You should give them a call. When I called to set up the automatic transfer it took less than a week for it to kick in. The way it works (for AA at least) is that any time you have over 2k GPs in your account on a Sunday, it should take the points out of your account in 2k increments. The AA miles then post on the following Thursday (with some nice 500 mile bonuses at certain levels).
While it took a few phone calls (and more than the stated 30 days), thanks to GP, Valuemags and especially FT, I was able to book my C class LAX-CNS-MEL-SYD-LAX trip this week!!!
