I'm off on a trip to the Westin Langkawi (Formerly Sheraton Perdana) myself next month. Found this thread and appreciate the updated comments.

For the OP: Just wondering if you could comment on the differences between the Sheraton Langkawi and Westin Langkawi, since you've been to both properties? Also, these two places seem to be in very different locations--any comments on the relative advantages of staying in each area?
