I think those of you already disputing the charges are really jumping the gun!! The valumag quote in the last post confirms this. I have been reading every post on every message thread concerning the valumag "450" promotion. I still have not seen anything to make me start worrying about my orders, all of which were placed prior to 12/26/01.

I understand that some of you are getting the points posted incorrectly. But this happens all the time, not necessarily with Goldpoints but with all the airline and hotel programs in general. It's just a matter of getting everything straightened out. Furthermore, Amex and every other card issuer wants the customer to try working things out with the merchant first. You only dispute charges as an absolute last resort!

There's something else I cannot understand about disputing the charges right now. You have something like 60 or 90 days to dispute charges on a purchase. Why not wait the 30 days to see if your points post? If after the 30 days things look really bleak and Goldpoints tell you to take a hike, THEN dispute the charges.

I bought over $7,500.00 worth of magazines and not a single point has yet to post. Yes, I'm a little anxious and would feel better if every last point had posted. But they said allow 30 days. Some program points post much sooner than expected and some take much longer. Seeing as how Goldpoints is "snowed under" due to the incredible success of the promotion, I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer. Of course, after 30 days I would definitely call and start to make some noise. But until then, I believe the prudent thing to do is sit back, take a few drinks or Xanax if necessary and sit tight.
