Price for the 8GB is a staggering EUR €999, and €899 for the 4GB.

I can't read the German, but the supposition at least (according to Daring Fireball where I found the link) is that it's unlocked, as makes sense based on the sky-high price.

Also of note is at least when I clicked on it it was #2 seller in electronics there. Yow, people are pre-ordering like crazy even at that price? Wonder if it allows shipping to the US? I would think no, or at least that such an oversight would be corrected before any ship, but I would guess a number of those pre-orders are from people over here.
