Although we had just returned from a week long New Years Eve trip to Bali, with the introduction of direct flights between Bangkok and Langkawi (always had to travel, and overnight, in Penang previously) couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Chose the Westin Langkawi (formally the Sheraton Perdana) over our last trip choice of the Sheraton. Grounds are well kept with sunset views of the nearby islands. With a private beach, 4-pools, tennis, squash and ping pong, amongst other activities this is the place to go. Only downside were the nearby seafood restaurants which unfortunately couldn’t hold a candle to those available in Thailand. The property even offers an airport lounge just after immigration control.

I won’t be returning to Bali again, but we have already booked a return trip to the Westin Langkawi for October.
